TARGET AUDIENCE

My definition:
The specific audience that you want to target, usually determined by age groups, gender or marital status.


Definition from the internet:
Particular group of people, identified as the intendedrecipient of an advertisement or message. Also called target population.


Companies, especially magazines, consider in great detail their specific target audience, because it helps chose the theme, colour, all-round look of the magazine to  target that audience and make them want to buy it because it looks like something they would be interested in.
